Today we have mostly been dismantling and moving wardrobes in preperation for our wall building tomorrow !

We're partitioning the bedroom off ( currently the bathroom comes off the 2nd bedroom ).

We'll eventually knock the wall by the stairs down so we create a proper landing but I want to get the bedroom sorted before Konrad and the 2 terrors come over so they can have their own bedroom

It won't be plastered, will just be plasterboard and a door but it's better than nuffink !

Our bedroom doesn't seem as small as I thought it would with the 2 double wardrobes in there so me is pleased

Well we've finished for the day

Got the main framework up for the wall and the door is hanging sweet as a nut. Just need to get some plasterboard on the walls and it'll be a proper room. Can't do that for couple of weeks though as next weekend we're out for somebody's birthday

So, here is today's work

Also need ot move the light switch along in the loft and also shift the main light across into the centre of the room but shouldn't take me long

It's actually not a bad little sized room overall, plenty enough for what we need. The landing area down to the bathroom is also a decent size too so won't feel too pokey.

Wow, that looks really good! A wise decision too as it'll add lots of value onto the house when you eventually sell it. Is it big enough for a double bed? Wouldn't have thought so, but it was full of wardrobes last time I was there, so it's hard to gauge just how big the room is.

You could fit a double bed in there but nothing else lol

You could easily fit a single bed and a wardrobe in there though.

We'll be using it as the guest room when people stay, we have the sofabed downstairs but there's no privcy for those sleeping there, we now have a mahoosive double layer airbed for when we have guests .. and guess what?

We're finally getting a door on the bathroom ! \o/

The doorways are such funny sizes though we're going to have to get it custom made :/

Also we're not going to knock the wall by the stairs down, I thought we would have to but the corridor isn't anywhere near as pokey as I thought it would be, once the old bedroom door & frame are ripped out it will feel less like a doorway.

Been thinking of cutting like a hatch thing in the wall, fill it with some shelves and a few bits to get some light on the stairs and in the corridor

My friend's house has a corridor like that, and they have some little windows at the top of the wall. Might look nice if you put some glass bricks along the top of the wall just to let the light in, but I'm not sure how expensive that'd be or whether it's your "thing"

There's a glass lintel over the door in my bedroom...

It's a right bugger if someone *glares at Paul* leaves the light on in the hall all smegging night....

Problem with that door though.
