Got stood up by my lift this morning
Still not really a problem except at the end of my road I went sideways ..... I might have dabbed the throttle a little. A chap at the bus stop had a huge grin and gave a thumbs up as I held it down the road. Getting a bit fed up of being on my knees to the car though. Still it didn't settle today and its meant to hit 5 or so at the end of the week so that should kill it off nicely. |

Well we haven't had any snow for ages now, forecast for sleet/snow today and tonight but haven't seen anything of that yet. It's just not getting warm enough for a proper thaw though. Most roads and main pavements are completely clear, but car parks and side road pavements are still a nightmare, fields and grass are still completely white. My main problem is getting in and out of my car park (both in the car and on foot!) to the road. It's a solid layer of ice a couple of (uneven) inches thick with a thin layer of water on top when it thaws during the day before icing over at night:

My estate actually seems to be thawing out thanks to the temperature being around 4C today, had to drive through a shed load of fog this morning though. Was quite weird as the fields seemed to have a wall built on them so you couldn't see anything, half expected to be attacked by something at some point.

The snow can well and truly piss off now. I got stuck in Holland for an extra night and had a bitch of a journey back because of it. Bored, bored of it now!

Pretty much gone in Cambridge now. I was quite happy with the snow closing Gatwick yesterday as we landed at Stansted so despite a 2 hour delay taking off we got home at pretty much the same time.

It's cleared a helluva lot in Liverpool today after a full day of snow yesterday, so was quite pleased, however then arrived home to find it *exactly* the same as it has been for the last 10-12 days. Why is it not moving? Arrghh!! The pavement is just so bloody slippy and absoultely solid.

And the fog is back, can barely see the other houses over the road at the moment.
