I only just found out yesterday that my Dad decided we're not having a tree this year. **** that. So we're moving things around trying to fit one in. Basically I'm so not ready. Still got presents to buy, including my own damn book for a family member because I haven't got any copies yet! Jesus Christ! Who thought up all this stuff?

Sorry to hear that Cheets, at least he's alright now.
Stuff like that always brings Christmas into a whole new light. I saw a man die yesterday and it's not nice so close to Crimbo (well, it's never nice at anytime I guess).

Gutted for you cheets, but at least he made it through it

Finally managed to put the christmas tree up at Paul's, not brilliant, but best could do in the situation.

There was a big crash about 2 minutes from where I live by car. There is an article about it here. When me and a friend arrived there was no traffic backup, no police, no fire engines, it could have only just happened and we were parked right opposite everything happening on the other side where there were 7 or so people all running about trying to help. In that time the Picasso had flames shooting from the bonnet, the Primera had a small fire but the Clio was on fire, in the space of a minute the Clio went from being on fire to being a complete blaze. A man was pulled from the car and was on almost completely on fire, frozen still with what I can only guess was shock.

We were stuck on our side of the road for around 2-3 minutes whilst all this was happening with people telling us to stay in our cars with all the people involved being those who had equipment in lorries able to help, thankfully there were several as there is a power station very near or those involved in the crash. In that time the heat became almost unbearable from the fires, it was frightening.

In the time it took us to get home, about 2-3 minutes after the 2-3 minutes there we saw no police cars which is criminal as there is a 'rapid response unit' in half the distance from my house to the accident and only 2 fire engines which passed us as we were literally next to my estate.

The worst is thinking back and thinking we should have gotten out, but in reality I know it wouldn't have done any good, there were 7 or so people there concentrating on one car, another on the phone to the emergency services and one side of the road (the one we were on) starting to get backed up with lorries. The accident itself required the Fire services to use the jaws of life.
