That's the beauty of C2Ds, it'll be quite a while until CPUs are the bottleneck in a system again.

Breakdown of my result (didn't get screenshot of 10,500) but at 10,302 is:

SM2.0 = 4165
HDR/SM3.0 = 4673
CPU = 2982

Huddy's SM2.0/SM3.0 scores aren't that far away from mine but my CPU score is considerably higher - no CPU bottleneck here

I succumbed and bought this today.

I also bought one of these to go with it

Got the CPU overclocked to 2974MHz but it's running a bit hot at load - runs at 35C at idle but shoots up to 55C at load (must be the 4 cores) - and that's with an Arctic Freezer 7

Ran 3DMark06 and got a score of 12609 (SM2.0 = 5159, SM3.0 = 5242 and CPU = 4308)

Final aim is to have a system with this CPU and two of these in SLi with some serious cooling (maybe water if I can psych myself up to it).

I'm off to try some gaming on it now - give it a proper test

I'm happy with my 2.8 conroe for the moment - although when I get a job I may look at the quad core, just for ****s and giggles
