Makes a change from an admin doing it I suppose.

Do you have any adblocking installed (plugins or via a firewall). Sometimes they can overreact to small but innocent images and block them. See also Web bugs.

Turning those off (or whitelisting BD) and then a swift Ctrl+F5 should sort it.

That should be grey, and it's what should make a grey bar behind the text you can't see, rather than plain white...

OT but no, no, it shouldn't. Maybe your monitor calibration is a little off.

The colour is approximately #96b3ac, which, since it has more blue and green components than red, is slightly cyan.

meh, look at the position on the colour chart, closer to the grey side than the colour - ergo more grey than cyan ergo it is grey

The monitor calibration is fine, it's more likely my colour blindness stumbling me there tbh
