A bit disappointed, but with Forza 2 arriving next month I would never have enough money to get both. Now I can get Forza 2 and spend the next few months playing that and Guitar Hero, then get Mass Effect in September. I'd rather they waited and got it right than release a piss-poor effort just to appease everyone (which we know they'd never do).

I agree with that bit admittedly
Still disappointing though as I have no interest in Forza 2 and can't afford GH2 anytime soon.

Ah well, just have to throw myself into PS2 RPGs I think

Forza 2, heard you mention this quite a lot Davey, I'll be looking it up on IGN but fancy telling me about it and why I should buy it?

Well, I owned and loved Forza Motorsport on the Xbox, and the sequel looks just like a sequel should be - bigger and better. I loved the original as it had a fantastic selection of cars (hundreds to pick from), a real reason to buy and own dozens of them (certain races could only be played in very specific cars), you could spend hours tweaking your cars to get the settings just right for every track, of which there were plenty. Not only that, but that were lots of driving aids you could turn off and on, including a racing line which goes green when you should put your foot down, and red when you should be braking. As it's a pretty realistic racer I found that very handy as I'm very much from an arcade racer background so 100+MPH powerslides round nairpin corners were common for me, something you simply cannot do in Forza.

For me, it was like Gran Turismo only a lot better. I'm hugely looking forward to the sequel

Edit: Forza 2's website (http://forzamotorsport.net/) confirms there are 310 cars to pick from. I'd post the list, but it's a long one

Edit 2: Any game which has 8 different Skylines (my favourite car) is always good with me

Edit 3: A comment from the game developers which most driving fans will really appreciate.... "Trust me, at Professional, the AI is very very tough (but fair! no rubberbanding going on here). " Thank god for no catch-up logic!

It's got a Mini Cooper S

Another thing I really liked in Forza is the way you upgrade your car. Every car had a class, ranging from Class E to Class S (the supercars effectively). Some races are open to all, but most are restricted to at least a certain class of car. Now say you find a Class E car that you love in terms of handling, using the upgrade system you can improve the cars speed, acceleration etc until it becomes a Class D car (or higher, I remember jumping 2 classes several times). You can then use that car in the Class D races. You can also take the upgrades out if you later want to use it in another Class E race. Forza 2 looks to have improved on the upgrading section as well, which can only be a good thing
