Well, I think the ball fixing explanation is far more plausible than subconscious writing of conveniently divisible by 23 numbers averaged out and then conveniently kept secret from the people who had just done the guessing
But I suppose that sort of thing "isn't his style" Ultimately I doubt either of the explanations in the show are even remotely close to what he actually did.

The thing where he got the guy to stamp on the polystyrene cups worried me a bit. I always pick number 13, it's my lucky number, I would've killed Jenny
Looking forward to next weeks show. I still can't believe he's gay though. He made a joke about gays and everything! |

I haven't watched all of it, but 'the wisdom of crowds' is utter BS. Averaging lottery numbers selected by a crowd will always tend towards 25, so having just seen the 3/6 prediction (I'm on +1), it's no surprise that they were all in that area, and guess what - the three numbers that matched were also all in the 20s.
Edit - OK - so he changed the rules on a subsequent attempt. Still tending towards the mid-point though. Pheebs, yes, he's clever, but let's be honest here - there isn't such a great divide between illusionist and con artist - they both rely on mis-direction. I'm not saying he is a con artist, just that being clever isn't necessarily the most important thing. Last edited by Mark; 11-09-2009 at 22:54. |

Edited my post a bit as I was watching, but I still don't buy it. It's just so easy to fake.

Just seen what he's proposing for next week. I really hope he doesn't try to do that 'live' on TV. Illusionists don't show how they induce suggestion and/or hypnosis live on TV for one very good reason - they're not in control of the viewer's environment.

Ah but he's already done that. He made us all watch the show tonight and clearly he's on commission by the lottery peeps with all those ads. He can reach you through the tv....oooooh ahhhhhhhh.

There was no way on earth he was going to reveal exactly how he did it. He was always going to give us rubbish tonight to explain "how" he could have done it but not the exact way.
I would suggest though if you get to see him live do go. I'm talking to you here MB, his live shows are so much better than the tosh that was on last night. I said to Kitten quite a few times while watching "utter bollocks!!" to stuff he was saying because in my opinion it was. No way could he have fixed the machine because those numbers would have kept coming up.
