Mine downloads very slowly for a while then steam locks up and I have to shut it down and start again.

Oh and when I say slowly I mean 5-6kb/s

I would guess that coupled with your troubles downloading F.E.A.R that your PC or connection/hardware may be fuxxored

I would get checking anything you possibly can to see if you can find a fault

Wel I have doubts about the motherboard working properly but I already RMA'd it once and over there said there was no problems found.

So atm I'm living with running only 1Gb memory and in single chanel at only 166Mhz.

So it could possibly be causing more problems than expected.
