When I had the barrett I found it too inconsistent with registering a hit. The M403A I found was more accurate.

Maybe on the xbox - but on the PC it's just not as accurate, sure it's powerful, but it's just not as accurate. My accuracy is far higher with the R700. It's a frickin' cannon! lol!

In real terms and in game terms the barret is the most powerful yes, but not the most accurate.

I'll see if I can find the site that gave it's verdict - which I agree with. Don't get me wrong the M82 is fantastic, but not in the application of this game for me.

The modified R700 (effectively the M403A) IS more accurate, but it's bullet power is reduced as a result.

For anyone that has seen Smoking Aces did the sniper have a barrett? If so, man that gun is powerful.

Never seen it - but the M82 can go clean through armoured vehicles with the correct ordanance. It's not a penetrative weapon as it's all about the type of round, though purely on size of round it's more a rip the mother****er to pieces weapon!

A .50cal round would easily rip a head or a limb off, or just leave a huge cavity in your torso. Not a nice thing really. Especially with an explosive round.

Dudes - I have been playing some CoD4 MP this weekend. I'm not terribly good yet, I don't really know the maps so I end up doing a lot of running and hiding

I am on PC, are there many others here it would be fun to play online with someone who I actually "know"! Can XBOX'ers and PC'ers play against each other? My knowledge of such things is limited.
