The Streets - Computers and Blues

Been looking forward to this for quite a while and grabbed it earlier on the download ahead of the CD arriving (hopefully) tomorrow...

I'll start off by saying that if you don't like The Streets there's nothing that's going to change your mind here.

Still, with me........ OK.

Been a huge fan since 2002 when I rushed out to buy Original Pirate Material after hearing Has It Come to This on Radio 1 one evening and I've bought all the other albums on launch days. The only album that I've been slightly disappointed in was Everything is Borrowed so I was rather nervous about Computers and Blues.

Like Everything is Borrowed, on first listen Computers and Blues doesn't have any standout tracks but unlike Everything is Borrowed it flows so wonderfully well that this really doesn't matter, it doesn't feel like a selection of singles chucked together but rather a proper album. Having said that there are already three tracks that I'm going straight back to listen to again as I think I could end up listening to them over and over again, 3 - Roof Of Your Car, 5 - Without Thinking, 8 - Soldiers.

As you may have guessed by now I'm no music journalist but if like me you like The Streets it's £9 well spent.

EDIT: Just found it for £3.99 on Amazon mp3 download.

One thing I like to do is try and grab the xfm playlist and see if anything shouts out.

Something shouted out!

Damn this girl can still sing! The sound has matured and I have to say I think I have found a new favourite track. Really gutted that I missed the reforming of the band.

Another new one

Bit NSFW this vid

Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross, a symphonic metal concept album.
It tells the story of the First Holy Emperor of Rome, King Charlemagne.

The album features a 100 piece orchestra and a number of guest vocalists playing the different roles in the story.

I ordered it on Monday afternoon from an Amazon Marketplace seller and it arrived on Tuesday morning, awesome service.

10/10. Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, CBE, CStJ, rocks. Hard.
