I start off in Auckland, but plan to travel to South Island at some point. There is hundreds to do, literally too much to mention. Kayaking, snowboarding, surfing, paragliding...have a look at newzealand.com. I'm looking forward to driving the 90 mile beach road.

I'll (hopefully) be doing as much of the two islands as possible, mainly Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Might check out the beach drive too, no real general plan as of yet, just fancy getting away for a bit.

Not too sure about out trip to Dominican in just iver 2 weeks, doesn't seem right having everything you want in a posh hotel when 100 miles away folks are going through hell

First time you have been to Dominican ? Undoubtedly the situation in Haiti is terrible due to the quake, but in a lot of complexes you only have to walk outside your complex for five minutes for it to be 3rd world. On the plus side, it is a beautiful beautiful place

Florida. In six weeks. Possibly. I've always told myself I wanted to take one more shot at seeing a Space Shuttle launch, two days ago I decided to try and take that shot.
Looking at the schedule:
So it's March or May then. Given that I have 16 days holiday 'use 'em or lose 'em' by the end of April, March wins. I'd put the chance of success at no better than 1-in-5, but three weeks in Florida is a pretty damn good second prize. The fact that I won't be racking up the debt to pay for it (for the first time ever) will certainly help make things less stressful too. Edit - it's booked and paid for. Same hotel as last time, same room type too. Cost a bit more though (exchange rate and work paying for the flights last time helped a lot). Last edited by Mark; 30-01-2010 at 22:11. |

Well, the T1 has booked the Spanish F1 GP in May, so that is a long week for me. Then the next trip is Bay of Naples, which includes, day trips to Sorrento, Vesuvius, Montecassino, Florence, Rome.
I am really looking forward to this holiday. Though I have been to Florence & Rome before, I am going to visit the sites i did not get to see last time I was there !

Just grabbed a launch viewing ticket for STS-131. \o/
That's one worry out of the way then! (they sell out rather quickly, but Gray Line opened up their ticket sales early and NASA hasn't put the link to that page live yet). Now it just has to launch on time (that was always going to be the biggest problem). Last edited by Mark; 10-02-2010 at 09:19. |
