right now i'm on one of my 'breaks' and will be for another 30mins before another 2 hours stint on the front line!
Later tonight I'm planning a few beer, hopefully a Samichlaus or two, as one of my mates just got 60% on a final year exam that he expected to be the most difficult.

Tomorrow - back to the grindstone... with that in mind i'd better not have more than a couple of Samichlaus.

I've finally told my boss (my dad) that I no longer want to be a sales rep. I explained that I stuck it out for a year to see how it went and by the end of the year I felt like I never wanted to go into work. So we talked and I'll be carrying on till April when a bonus comes through. So between now and then I need to save as much as possible so I can buy a car as the company car and phone will be taken off me

Also going to try and finish the police application form tonight and have a chat with the ex-copper that lives over the road.

Well, I dumped 70 mags in the recycling today, reduced another junk pile by three inches, and received a shiny new (refurb) Dell D830 laptop (another happy Europc customer).

Not done anything with the latter besides inspect for damage and check it powers on (which it does).

Nice one Mark

I heart my 820 muchly. Seen a few 830's come into work, and it certainly looks like they're continuing to do a pretty good job with this series.

Chassis: Dell D830
OS: Vista Business (shame it's the 32-bit version - would have preferred 64-bit).
CPU: Intel T7700 (2.4GHz, 4MB L2)
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 160GB (hope it's 7200rpm - sounds like it might be)
Gfx: Quadro NVS 140M
Screen: 1680 x 1050 (1280 x 800 would have done - unlikely to run it higher)

Got the whole lot for £850 (that spec is somewhere around £1400 new).

I'm having a tough week. Yesterday we did missing persons (ok), sudden deaths and delivering agony messages (meh!). Today we covered child abuse/abduction/cruelty and indecent assaults, with special attention paid to the finer details of the Victoria Climbie case (sorry to swear but...**** me Unimaginable horror) Tomorrow we are looking at the effects of indecent assaults, marching and I have to pass another fitness test despite not training for over 10 weeks. Thursday we're off to the mortuary to see dead people and learn how to deal with them, Friday RSPCA input and the domestic violence input starts.

Sometimes you just need to come home to a hug and have a good cry.....chocolate is filling the gap quite nicely!! *biffa*
