Chances are very high that redsn0w will not work with 3.1. There were dire warnings not to upgrade to the 3.1 Beta because the exploit had been fixed.
Fortunately I already have iBEC and iBSS files safely squirrelled away. No idea what they'll be used for I've got them. I've got my phone's ECID too. This does bring back my problem with doing Option+Restore though. If I have to restore and I can't restore to the firmware I want, then that's the end of the Jailbreak. |

All this is far too complicated - whilst it would be cool the have a jailbroken phone for installing free software, I'm with O2 anyway, I just don't need it - and I just don't like fiddling with things I don't understand.
