Oh, on the topic of bargains, took advantage of the Steam offer for the weekend and picked up Fallout 3 for £13.49 which is just a bargain. Runs much better on my PC than I was expecting, so that's a result.

Patching it and linking it with my Live account was a total PITA though. Took 4 attempts for the latter to work (which also resulting in me having to start the game again - I was just about to leave the vault before realising it hadn't linked after it had told me).

Yes it does. It's a great system for Xbox360 (but then again, it feels more natural and not so tacked on as it does with GFWL) but because it's not the standard it was a bit of a pain to begin with. I wish all games used it then it would be much easier.

But I wouldn't let that put you off a fantastic game. I've spent about £85 on it all told .
PC version, Xbox360 Collectors Edition and 3x DLC. .

On steam, it mentions needing GFWL for online play - which I probably won't bother with, can it be run without GFWL offline?

It's a close call to be sure, but I'd put it in the order NG > GoW > DMC. God of War is just awesome, when the 3rd game comes out it will tempt me more than ever to get a PS3.

It's always nice when you go into Computer Exchange with a load of old rubbish like memory and original Xbox games, and come back out of town with 6 games

Resident Evil 5
Sacred 2
The Godfather 2
Too Human
Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box
Trivial Pursuit

Good start to the day

GFWL is free though. And I started playing without actually signing into GFWL at all.

I know its free, it's just a thoroughly horrible piece of software that seems to serve no actual purpose unless you also own a 360. If I don't need to sign up to it that's bearable I suppose.

I've bought it now, just waiting for the almost 6GB download at 400KB/s
