Do it dude. Take the copied game out of the disk and dont play it. Like you say, if they've already got you then they've got you, signing in without playing shouldn't make a difference - not like you'll be giving them any more ammo.

If it all gos tits skyward Jamie you can always contact Microsoft, as long as you can legitimately claim that you haven't played any copied games you have an arguement to ask them to unblock your console

Are that doing that though? Last I heard people who argued their case were just going through the usual warranty repair procedure.

As said, if they've already got me then they've got me. The guy never played backups online so if I do the same then I might be OK. Maybe I can hold off long enough to wait for new firmware.

But I can't. I HAVE played copied games so if they're storing the info then so be it. I just haven't played copied games on Live.

I don't think they have a way of monitoring that do they? As long as you keep those copies away from an online connection I think you'll be OK and if it comes up with an error tell MS you just bought it.

Someone probably already said that.

If you want to play it like that, then you can sign into your live account offline (pull the CAT5), play games/unlock achievements, then sign in without a disk in the tray it just sync up afterwards.

Conspiracy theory at the moment is there's something in the new dash to check offline. Impossible to confirm of course.

If you want to use messenger, then you need to use the same passport address that you use for MSN
