SBSettings and five icon dock are absolute essentials for me. Winterboard too of course.

Haven't looked at the other two yet, but I knew I wanted SBSettings as soon as it was mentioned.

Just looked it up, whilst it's kinda cool having 5 icons, I don't understand why they are "essential"? The SBSettings is kinda useful, but I'd use it once a month maybe

Like I said, I'm not a power user like you guys, I don't use clever network stuff etc... it just seems more gadgets to go wrong for me

I'm such a luddite!

I'll use SBSettings to turn the phone and wi-fi on and off. I know it's only going to save me a tap or two, but why not.

OK, noob question (not iPhone-specific). How do I find out how much credit I've got remaining? (O2 Pay&Go)

Maybe essential was a bit strong but having my 5 most commonly used things (phone, messages, contacts, email & calendar) showing irrespective of what page of the home screen is extremely useful.

SBSettings is something I use at least twice a day. Having the bluetooth radio on kills the battery so I only turn it on when I'm getting into the car then turn it off when I finish my journey. SBSettings lets me turn BT off with just a swipe and a button press compared to having to go to the relevant page on the home screen, settings, general, bluetooth, on/off.

Either dial 4444 and listen or do *#10# and press call.

Thanks - added *#10# to contacts so I don't forget it (it's easier than calling 4444).

Oh I agree the the 5 icon thing is actually quite neat , that I do like - but it's not enough to tempt me (not that you're trying to, I'm just rambling ).

I don't have BT in the car, and don't use 1/2 those settings most of the time and anything I need switched off/on I can get to quickly enough - but unlike you I don't do it often so it's not a ball ache for me.

I can completely see why this is so so useful for someone who extensively uses their phone's features daily - hence why you're a big cheese of IT in a big company earning a pretty penny, and I use a computer for email!

Got my CapsuleNeo installed today. Had the usual grief I have with all screen protectors (though it was a lot easier than some I've had) so it's not perfect, but plenty good enough. Installing the rest was pretty easy and I can take the kid gloves off now.

Even with the protection on it's way thinner than my old phone, so I'm very happy with the results. It's a keeper.

Now I've just got to sort out the AppleCare mess. eBay transaction gone wrong again.
