Surely a mistake?

You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

It's £99 on the Apple store and that sort of indicates that the app is included.

O2 have offered that I can do a straight upgrade from my 2g to a reconditioned 3g (NOT the 3gs).
Is it really worth it? Bearing in mind I was looking forward to getting a cheaper contract as the £15 a month I'd save would be handy.

I'm already pretty sure what I'm going to do but just curious for other people's views

Well I'm just over a month from my upgrade window and I'm now so torn between the iPhone and an HTC Magic/Hero that I really haven't a clue which way to jump.

Feel the iPhone is a more polished solution but like the flexibility of Android.

I was the same. The iPhone is a very polished and finished product and it just does what you want but just not as flexible as others. Having said that, I've not come across anything that has stopped me doing something majore that I wanted to. I'm jailbroken which does help.

I think I made the right choice or me.

Can I ask exactly what you do with your jailbroken phone that you couldn't do with a non-jailbroken one? Not really prepared to hack about with whatever I get (at least for a while) so if there's some things I need which I can't do on a standard iPhone it might swing the decision.

Nothing major, but things that just make it nicer to have and to use. I think there are a couple of things listed a page or so back, but for me, the main ones are themes, SBSettings (which allows access to quick toggles for wireless, bluetooth, etc.), lockinfo (which shows my calendar entries, emails, SMS, etc. on the lock screen), biteSMS (a better SMS app with lots of features), Autosilent (allows me to silence alert sounds at different times of the day, mainly through the night for me). These are just a few things of the top of my head. None of them ground breaking, but enough to make it a better phone for me.

And all of them available as standard or via the marketplace on Android, without any jail break friggery.

I'm biased, though
