I read my little sisters copy in just under 10 hours on Tuesday because she left it to stay over at her friends house. I liked it but my heart just wasn't in it the same way it was when i was 12 and my mum bought me the first 3 books to read.
![]() Had to tell my dad everything that happened because he didn't want to read it but wanted to know what happened. |

I'm re-reading it now and I'm enjoying it more than originally. I think I was suffering from over-hype the first time and also that there were so many theories kicking around that a lot of the book wasn't a surprise.
I know that's a contradiction as I'm enjoying it more now and I know exactly what happens but it's definitely the case. I didn't overly rush to read it the first time but I did read quicker than usual so as to avoid any definite spoilers that may have appeared.

I didn't mean to read it so quickly, i am normally a fast reader but i did have the added push of my sister wanting to read it before me.
![]() Will probably read it again in a few weeks. |

I think I read it too quickly as well, I just couldn't put it down and kept bloody rushing through it because I was so excited

I finished it today, and liked it, again I didn't have a lot of recollection of the previous book but it didn't really matter.
For people who enjoy this sort of thing and haven't already read it, I highly recommend the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman (Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass) they are better written, have a better plot and are altogether a better series of books. Thats not denigrating the Potter books, I do like them, its just that HDM is better ![]() MB |

HDM were really good books, I just felt after all the build up the ending fell a bit flat - maybe if I re-read them it'll be different.

I've got the Deathly Hallows audiobook now, both the Stephen Fry and the Jim Dale readings. Dale does more characterisation on the voices but I much prefer the Stephen Fry version.
