Thats the reason I decided against those Reebok Reetone somethingorothers. For them to even work very very slightly, I would have needed to wear them 24/7. Not practical

Nah, not true Dee. I walk the dog in my fitflops alternately with my 'proper' trainers every week or so in the summer (I wear them, obviously, she doesn't) and when I've worn them a few days I can feel a whole different set of muscles benefitting in just the 2-3 miles or so a day (which takes an hour - not a whole day). It's all to do with posture & core strength rather than weight loss and when I start getting a sore back I swap to the FF and they help. If I couldn't feel the difference, I'd not bother wearing them.

Being stereotyped. Or is that rational?

Really hacks me off when people say things or make comments which are supposed to be 'funny' but would be completely unacceptable if they were about my skin colour/country of origin/sexual preference, but it's ok to say it if it's about something else that isn't covered by the big book of political correctness.

Bit cryptic I know but I don't want to go into detail, it just pisses me off.

Trainers are too hot to spend the day in in this weather though, love my fit flops, can easily spend the day in them. Very very comfy and when you get up to a decent speed of walking, you can definitely feel it.

Thing is, when I wear my normal flipflops, I can feel my muscles working harder than when I wear shoes. I wonder if a study has been carried out to see if FitFlops are even more effective on muscles than normal flipflops?

It's a different muscle set afaik. It's your bum muscles and your back that benefit rather than your legs, although your upper legs improve more compared to your lower. Obviously with flip flops, your calf muscles behave differently, but I've never felt my bum/lower back muscles get stronger with flip flops - nor is there any support around the ankle & joints.

Lots of info on their studies and technology on their website : http://www.fitflop.com/faqs/ & http:...p.com/benefits

I think if you wear them to do the housework and expect to wake up with a body like FloJo then you're onto a loser. However they really have helped my back and as part of a regular exercise routine (which believe it or not, I do have, despite wearing fitflops ), I really don't see the problem or why anyone else would have a problem with what I choose to wear on my trotters. However, this is directly at odds with my feelings on crocs (which make me want to throttle people that I see wearing them outside ) and so feel that the irrational rant thread is a good place to vent this!
