Very much so, but then if the Hero did what I needed, I wouldn't be in this position to start with.

It wasn't meant to be flame inducing, just an observation

Likewise, though I'll offer my apologies for being a bit harsh in reply.
Does anyone have any recommendations for software I can use to sync SMS Messages and Notes. I know the latter is supported by Snow Leopard but I don't have that. Thanks. Last edited by Mark; 13-10-2009 at 15:27. |

I don't get Apple's obsession with locking the phone down. I'm sure they would make tons more money if they gave you an official method of doing it, along the lines of "If you want to, here you go. It's legal and legit, but you won't get support"

I don't understand either and it's the one thing I really don't like about Apple. But there ya go, can't have it all I guess.

I imagine a big part of it is around the iTunes lock in more than anything else. First concern seems to be preventing, say, someone building a clone whose backend is amazon mp3. Arguably the same on the phone itself, but with apps to worry about as well.

I actually Jailbroke my phone last night, are there any decent apps you guys can recommend? I'm going to have a read back through this thread now but figured it might be quicker just to ask
I did it just after I got my iphone and didn't really mess around with it much so just restored it back and have never thought about it again until now. |

Yeah, I came back to edit my post to say that I'd already grabbed SBSettings, Winterboard and PDANet - I'd seen Backgrounder but couldn't think of anything I want to run in the background, battery life is crap enough as it is!
