I just don't see the point. I'm sure it's efficient but I seem to be able to do stuff fast enough with a keyboard and non gesturing mouse

I play with my mouse, gestures would be a waste of time, I'd keep doing random stuff!

I can see i'm fighting a losing battle here, i'm just very impressed with mouse gestures myself.

Mark i know you're a keyboard junkie but if you only remotely use the mouse, Mouse gestures rock.

Feek you can't do thing by accident, i play with the mouse all the time too you just draw stuff while right clicking to activate almost anything, if you make a mistake or realise you're doing something by accident (i actually do this quite often) just carry on and draw a circle and it cancels your request

Haly keyboard shortcuts are good i use them, but mouse gestures are one step better, theyre more organic (sounds werid i suppose but thats how i'd describe them). A mouse and menu i agree sucks, but gestures are awesomely great.

I'm really not a fan of that argument. If that were true we'd still be using 3.1 (or extremely DOS) and some archaic internet explorer. That's not a dig at you or anything i just always rise to that useless statement.

Why do you use firefox now? When IE7 does it all anyway ?

Because most of us came from IE6 which was most definitely broken.

Windows 3.1 and DOS? If Microsoft had stayed there we'd all be using Macs now.

Because I like Firefox and see no reason to change any time soon while it's doing everything I want a browser to do
I came from Opera btw NOT IE5 which I think was the version I used beforehand.

Mind you, as much as I like Firefox I don't particularly care what others use, their call and their PC. Just because someone doesn't use Opera doesn't automatically make them in the wrong

But there's only so far you can take that, only so much you can do with gestures before it becomes an inefficient way of interaction. And on top of that, it only works for a handful of applications at best, and their implantation is likely to be different.

The most efficient way to use a computer system is a keyboard, but with that power comes complexity, and in turn inaccessibility to most people.

That said, if you're whacking off to porn, you need a hand free, so there's use there

The only thing I use IE for is windows updates...

Before IE I used netscape, then FF came along and I was saved!
