General opinion seems to be that there's little point spending the money on doing serious tuning work to the 4age as an engine swap offers such value for money, especially if you can diy.
An engine swap is probably the way I'll go when I start looking for more power but if I wanted a nice tuning project for a 4age I'd be looking to fit a megasquirt ECU, the lower compression pistons from a 4agze and then turboing it. |

That was the feeling that I was getting in that major tuning isn't really viable. After doing the minimum to hit 150 without buggering up the powercurve, its really the only option. The tuning project would be interesting but alas would cost oooodles.
