WOOHOO
As of today, I am the proud owner of one black, five door, 1998 Clio
Sorry for lame picture, will take one myself when I get the car: I need it insured (sorted, £1380 ), taxed (next week's job) and then I can go collect it It does need a little work, such as an inside/outside clean and a radio. Thus the question: How difficult to install a car radio?

Not at all. Not sure on the clio if you need a fascia panel thingy to replace the plastic where the standard radio would have been, but they arent expensive. You might also need the right wiring harness for your car to convert it to the proper ISO standard the new head unit will expect
Other than that, all going well its a half-hour job at most. I fitted the HU in my Mondeo in the pitch black outside Halfords in the rain the night I picked it up. Took me 5 minutes. |

Hmm.. fitting my radio in the Corsa was a PITA, but that was a bit of an unusual case due to an extremely weird issue with the release catch on the right hand side of the radio that just wouldn't release like it should do. Had to take half the surround off to be able to get to a position where I could trigger the catch manually from the outside.
Actually fitting the replacement was relatively pain free, the only hassle being a stupidly short aerial lead that luckily I could just manage to fit thanks to my slim fingers! In all it took me about an hour When I came to make the change back, that was painless. Shove tool in, pull out nice radio, unplug cable. Rest old radio on lip, plug aerial in, push in and click home, reach around back and put in connector. Jobs a good'un. Took me 5 minutes tops

Congrats on the new car Year younger than mine so hope it's as reliable as mine was for the first year I had it, no comment admittedly on the second year but I don't think it liked doing Stafford to Swansea so regularly

What is the exact build date? There was a change over on the clio at March 1998 and so you will need a ISOfit Wiring harness (about £9)
You can get adapters so you can retain functionality of you stalk control, but I think its limited to Sony and JVC head units of you want to do that. Also, if its the slightly older clio, then to replace the speakers on the rear shelf, you will need speaker adapters. Also, fitting a head unit on any renault in my experience is a real PITA because of the lack of space behind the hole. When I had a megane, I had to cut away a totally useless piece of plastic behind the opening to fit the RCAs and other cables. I have seen a car jack being used to fit a head unit in a Renault 19, but I don't think this will be the case with yours.

Well I fit a radio - only problem is the wires to fit the radio so I can use the stalk with it don't go in the radio (or if they do, I have absolutely no idea where) so I have radio controls on a stalk which I can't use
Apart from that, I have been driving it a lot for the first two days, but here are some pictures (I do apologise for the lack of scenery, I was going to drive out to a park or something but then I decided to get the pictures out quickly )
