We're off to the states tomorrow and upon examining Kitten's DS Lite charger it appears it only works on 230V is this the case?
Will it charge in the US or would we need to get al el-cheapo charger while we are over there? I'd have though most power supplies would switch.

You'll need a switch mode power supply. It just won't work - I tried to plug in a soldering iron which was rated at only 230v - it hardly even got tepid!
If it doesn't say 100~230V AC then it won't switch I'm afraid

bollocks that is what I thought. I think a trip to Target when we get there might be in order otherwise someone will be rather unhappy
