It happened to my family a few years back. We look back at it and laugh, it was a fun night all round.

It builds character.

Well if it's taken that long to work its way through Essex I've got a while 'til it gets here

I had gastric flu a couple of Christmasses ago, I've never felt so ill. Lasted two weeks or so, lost about a stone in weight and I had so little energy that if I had anything to eat even for about a month afterwards, I'd still feel exhausted for hours after. It was like my body just couldn't handle digesting food at the same time as breathing
Really evil bug.

Ekk! I hope you are all feeling better.

I have to say this is one of my selfish concerns about having kids - being ill and not just being able to curl up and wish for death but instead having to look after little ones and sort out washing bedding etc.

We've had that huddy! It's HORRIBLE! I really feel for you - though you're probably recovered by now if it's anything like what we had!

It's really weird - I remember suddenly feeling really hot sweaty and sicky at work and then after 30mins realised I couldn't make the rest of the afternoon and would not be able to get on the bus without throwing up.... I was shaking, massive headache, couldn't focus etc... so I called picky.

As soon as I got home I was upstairs, threw up only once but hit the bed like a sack of bricks and physically couldn't move for my life. Picky started feeling similar so led down too... so so odd and so quick. I actually got to a point where I thought "sugar... I'm going to need to get picky to call out the docs soon... I don't think this is right at all".

Within 24hours Pickys parents had the same thing and sister (we had seen them a day or two before) and Pickys Mum felt so bad so quickly she thought she was actually going to die!

It was all over within 24 - 48hours but so very very strange.

I remember going home from work early one day a few years back, went to bed but then got straight up and puked and **** for England, queue curling up on the bathroom floor in a cold sweat. After a few more miles of driving the porcelain bus I ran empty, had some water, then toast, then bed and was fine for work in the morning! Not sure why I didn't call in sick cause I looked rough as when I went home the previous day....
