Doom 3
Been having a bit of a run around Doom 3 this evening (after finally getting it to run under Vista... And suffereing bleached everything else :/) and am finding the deathmatch quite good fun
Anyone else still got this game and maybe fancy having a bit of a play at some point? Depending on how long it takes Pieanchips to sort his update then I may well actually have a go at the single player game tonight, but think I need to remap the keys as they're somewhat different to what I normally use :/

I only ever had an acquired copy as I only wanted it for the single player. Good fun though, could be very atmospheric.

Got a standalone server running on my server at work. You'll need the 1.3.1 patch for Doom: Nab Here
then in game go to multiplayer, and in the bottom left enter the IP as bliss.paulgraydon.co.uk Yes we'll ignore how thats actually a host name and not an IP.. Connect to it and use the password "monkey". Word to the wise: If you're having performance problems on your NVIDIA card, go to the Nvidia control panel, find the profile for Doom 3 and change vsync to "force off".

Yeah I got quite into it but never completed it as Quake 4 came along and stole my attention. Then COD2 stole my attention and of course COD4 now has my undivided attention. I don't quite have the time to get back into it at the moment, but I might dust it and see how it goes.

Despite the poor reviews Domm3, I thought it a great game. Although not the best, it's immense atmosphere basically scared the ****e out of me.. Especially one night, when Teresa banged on the window next to where I was playing haha

Never tried MP but I'd agree that the SP campaign was a good romp.
I never understood why it got such poor reviews. |
