Default Blizzard!!!

No, not the Dairy Queen treat. The kind that it's not worth digging out the camera to get any pictures, because all you'd see is a white screen!!

In the last four hours it's gone from 20 above to 7 below. Wind chill went from 10 above to 28 below.

I just made the 10 mile drive home from work at no more than 20mph. If it hadn't been for the "fog line" (white painted line at the side of the road) I would have never made it home. The snow blowing 35mph sideways across the road was making visibility less than 5 feet.

So between the fog line and my 150W KC Daylighter look alikes pointed right at the line 10 feet in front of the truck, I was able to navigate fairly well, but not something I'd enjoy doing again anytime soon...

The first time I went ot visit my Brother in the US (NJ) was Feb 2003. We landed just as this was starting:

And spent almost all the trip in his bungalow waiting for Philly airport to re-open

Well, I went to go to work last night and buried the nose of my truck in a drift in my driveway. Had to get a friend to come and yank me out. My headlights were the only thing on the front of the truck showing above the snow. 235/75R15 tyres and they were not visible on the front!! Took 12 tries. Come home this morning (after blowing through 20 or 30 snow drifts on the roads) and as I turned into the driveway the wind caught my truck broadside at the same moment the 4WD bound up and slipped the front tyres.

My truck is now sitting lop sided part way in the ditch at the end of my drive. I'll get a picture in the morning when I go to get it out. It's actually kind of funny so long as you don't think about the fact that if we absolutely need to go anywhere right now we're screwed!!

A couple pics to show what I'm going through here...

That mound of snow is at least 4 feet high. I crouched down for the first pic, but the camera was still at least 2.5 - 3 feet off the ground. It's still -23*F out there and wind chill takes it down to -40 as the wind has died down a little. I've got to go out and pull the carb off my snowblower to get it going otherwise I'm never going to get any of my firewood in the bed of the truck to get it out of there.
