Adding network printers
How exactly do you add network printers? its been ages since i've done it but i want to setup a printer on another PC that I have installed on this one.. i'm sure its straight forward (it was when i knew the format on how to add by address)
I've been going through the dir tree but can't find out. i've obviously got all the details for it as its installed on here, but whats the \\server\printer format to add it? |

You mean \\ip-address\printer-name?
Assuming you've shared the printer on the server of course. PS - don't forget to make sure printer sharing is enabled if you're using Vista. |

Is it not just a case of going into the control panel, selecting the printer, ticking the 'Share Printer' box and being done?
I'm fairly sure that's all I had to do and now I can use either of my printers from any of my PCs.

its already setup on the domain to be shared as its accessable from plenty of PCs but i just was going to try to add it to another.

Oh, if you have to add them surely, Control Panel > Printers > Add Printer ?
Or is that what you've been doing by saying 'dir tree' ?
