Default i am a numpty

So on the train to work this morning i had my bag on the seat next to me, and someone asked if he could sit there so I slinged the bag onto the table, heard a thump, paid no attention to it until i got up 10 mins later and the guy noticed the table is now wet with brown liquid....then i realised.....I had a can of coke in there !

Some how i put it on the table too hard and the bag wasn't enough padding and it exploded inside. So i opened it and saw what can only be describe as a pond of coke inside my bag with my wallet and keys having a morning swim.......

So now i am at the office and emptied out all my contents onto my desk and flooded my bag about 5 times with tap water to rinse it out.

My poor leather bag !

I did a double take when I saw it was Mondo creating a thread with this title. I was sure it was Huddy the first time I looked!

Urgh, sticky man-bag.

Reminds me of when I went on holiday to the US with my parents many years ago. There was a can of coke in the boot as we drove through Death Valley, then up Mammoth Mountain. Finally took the rather warm can out and into the hotel room where it was placed on the table. I think it was my brother that knocked it off, but it hit the floor and went bang. I quickly picked it up and the can was open, but empty... the contents had vaporised and practically every surface in the room, if you looked closely enough, now had a very faint brown speckle to it. Never seen anything like it. Now you know why some hotel rooms are just plain sticky.

I was lucky that the things inside at the time didn't get ruined, my usb stick was in another compartment, my iphone was in my jacket so the things that the coke got to can be washed - wallet, keys, sunglasses...

Anyone have experience on how to clean coke out of leather and fabric?

I shove my brown leather bag on the back of my scooter every morning but one day last week I didn't ty it up too well. Cue some guy beeping at me as it had fallen down and was getting dragged along like Indiana Jones!
