The online users list - why is it turned off for us plebs?

Why not just enable it for everyone?

I find it odd being on a forum where you don't know who's online. The place could be full or I could be the only one here

exceppt it tells you next to each forum how many people are veiwing it, so you know if it is empty

It's just a design choice that was taken way back when, and hasn't been looked at since. We'll have a chat about it

I prefer it hidden. I'd like to think the forum is mostly full when I'm browsing and not empty.

There is a perfectly good reason why some services aren't available until a user has surpassed a set number of posts, once people surpass that number of posts they get a few other services
