I'm really not fond of taking unnecessary medication or the like. I avoid paracetamol or Ibuprofen unless the pain is crippling me. I'm a firm believer in letting the body deal with infections and the like itself, and doing as little as I can get away with to disrupt the bodies natural balance.
That said whilst I was an asthmatic, and later with lung problems, I had the flu jab done every year after I had flu and suffered extremely bad asthma when younger, to the point of having to get the ambulance out. Every time without fail my arm would ache for about 24 hours, and I'd feel slightly groggy whilst not suffering any specific symptoms. After that any flu that was going around would usually bypass me.
