Anyone noticed how people will normally be friendly to you once you start working in a new place and somehow manage to keep their distance during break time?
![]() Also, people will laugh at any little odd thing, which normally it isn't even remotely funny! Here is an example. I was watching a colleague prepare a film - about to check for malaria in a sample - so I asked him about the specific test blah blah blah. He just busted out laughing and said "yeah". Gosh wtf, my question is something about malaria, it wasn't a joke or something to laugh at! Why the heck people do that? I wish people will just be normal. ![]()

Early days I must say. I just hate the fake smiles/grin. It appears people are been forced to be professional even though they probably don't want to, hence the OTT/weird friendliness...

I hate it when someone calls you and asks how you are and you are expected to ask them back.
TBH I couldn't give a toss - cut to the chase - WHADYA WANT?! ![]() BB x |

I always go out with people that I work with. Took me about 3 weeks of being there before I started going out for drinks with a load of the crowd that go out locally. After about 4 months here, I think I'd slept on the sofa around a few peoples houses and vomitted in at least 2 ![]()

Speaking of work stories.....There is this cute white girl....OMG, your guys never told me red heads are sexy. The question is, should I hit it? I am a bit weary giving the fact that I find the whole artificial niceness odd.
Also, some dude I saw yesterday in the staff room looked like sidewinder.....with the long hair and porn-star like pony tail! ![]()

I have been invited out to a Christmas dinner, but declined lol. It will probably take me longer to make friends as I don't even drink, or see the joy of pubs tbh - one of the best medium to get to know your colleagues etc.

I go bowling/cinema/5-a-side football/go-karting with people from work ![]() we quite often just go to nando's in bluewater after work for a meal and that's about it. Christmas party is coming up on the 5th of december, that'll be a good one. We go out maybe once or twice a month in the evenings for drinks/parties but usually they're for leaving do's or birthdays. I don't wear my hair in a ponytail, and I would NEVER read a russel brand book. I think a large portion of the forum find red-heads sexy as hell, and damn I agree with them ![]()
