One other letter I received was from a woman whose son had mental issues and decided to up sticks and a hunt for him was launched resulting in him being found a couple of days later and I picked up the bulk of the inquiries. Common eand good communication was the order of the day and getting him found. I also have letters from the DI for assistance in pro-active ops and also assistance in the investigation of a rape allegation by a 14 year old girls some years back. The best one was for when I was policing election night in 2001 when I told a local councillor to wind his neck in for being drunk and using choice language and that he should know better. After ' Do you know who i am ' and ' I don't care, etc ' he shut up and stomped off in the huff. I later received a letter from a rival councillor saying how good I was in dealing with him. Political point scoring I think.
