The new ones are pants, but the ones I got with my 2nd (I think) gen nano were quite good.

Sadly, yours isn't mine.
But if you stopped writing about other things and made this your signature, yours could be like mine.
Look down, back up. Where are you?
You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

I love my CX300 (i think i've got them anyway and they are ****ing bass-y) for over bass, it may be chavvy or whatever, but i don't care, can't beat too much bass in your ears

Aye, it's not strictly a bad thing, but it isn't to everyone's tastes having it sound like someone shoved a subwoofer down their ear canal

I like them

And I am not just saying it, may be i've gone deaf or something but i actually find them quite good.

I have had in the past Sony EX70, EX71, Ety ER-6i (these are expensive!), Senn CX300 ( I actually carry around the CX300 with me in the bag too for my ipod but i find it full of bass with no midrange.) and at the moment i prefer the ipod earphones and have done so for the past year, i used the EX70/71 for about 4 years, Ety for 2 year. I realise this one day on the train when my sister had nano on and i was using my Ety, I did a back to back comparison on the train and could not tell the difference.

The advantage of an canal earphones is the insulation against background noise and that you don't need to turn up the music to hear it. The down side is that you can't hear a damn thing in the outside world with them in, even when you are not playing music. I find the ipod earphones very convenient, that i can still talk to people with some music playing and they are not too expensive if i lose them. The extra bonus with the iPhone is that there is a mic and remote in the cable so i can do track selection by a few clicks.

You could always go on about sound quality but i listen to music on the way to and from work and those hours are on the train where the engine noise and what not will ruin any difference in audio superiority the better earphones have.

Same gen I have. The rubber is fraying on the surround because I've used them so much.
