Default Alcoholic sues Hotel

I wish this was one of my awful jokes.

An alcoholic is suing a hotel because he says the bartender should not have served an alcoholic alcohol, and also claiming their stairs don't meet various safety standards.

Right.. the bartender was somehow supposed to just "know" that someone ordering from him was an alcoholic?

Why do they let these cases even get anywhere near court?

Only in...sorry..

I personally blame the lawyers, aren't they the ones seeking proper justice and all that? Why on earth take this case on? Simple - if they win - the Marriot group is likely to pay out big.

I wish Judges had the power to employ a little common sense and dismiss rubbish like this, and fine the man for wasting time and resources of the court.

They should allow spanking with a giant spade. Lawyer wastes a client's time by allowing a case to go to court? Trousers down. Take aim.

Actually there is a law that states that if a bar/bartender is told a person is an alcoholic they are at fault for any accidents that happen if they don't stop serving him. There is also a law for those of you not "in the know" if a person leaves a bar or house party intoxicated and the bar or host of the party lets them leave they are also responsible for anything that may happen.
So how does that work? If I go to chicagos get completely steaming, leave to get taxi from round the corner and as I stumble up the road and get hit by a taxi as I step out into the road. Its then chicagos fault, right?
Yeah that makes lots of sense lol
