Missing canon Driver Disc :/
Just went to install Clare's new Canon Ixus 85 camera drivers to download some piccies, and the only CD in the box is the damn digital copy of the manual. I've been on the canon website and cant find downloadable drivers or anything. grrr.
It appears we should have the "Camera Solution Disc Version 33". Anyone got this who can send us an ISO? (I'm guessing this isn't illegal...??) |

That's a bit sucky for a brand new camera. From a quick look here's a torrent that looks interesting. It's v37.2 rather than v33 but should still be fine. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4638...ion_disk_v37.2

Why do you need drivers? Surely just plug it in and use the windows camera thing? I don't think i've ever installed anything for a digital camera.

I have to admit I never used the solution CD with my Canon camera (the S3, not the EOS ), but then I've never plugged the camera in directly either - until now. Sure enough, it just worked. Don't forget you can use a USB card reader too.
As for the solution CD, there should be a packing list in with the documentation. If the solution CD is listed on that and you want it, then I'd be a-complaining. As it's a gift that does complicate things a little but you might be able to convince Canon to send you one. PS - I checked my solution disk. It's only v28 so not new enough. I didn't use that for the above camera test. Last edited by Mark; 28-05-2009 at 16:54. |

IXUS shoots in JPEG you don't need any drivers, just plug the camera in or use a card reader

Even if it shot in RAW, it wouldn't need drivers - just conversion software which is available all over the place in various guises.

They (or rather Pheebs' parents) did pay for the complete package though, so purely out of principle...

Well V33 Software Starter Guide on the site is a PDF, so not drivers.
Software Starter Guide V33 Other relevant downloads: Camera UserGuide 1.0.0 ZoomBrowser EX Updater (6.1.1a) ZoomBrowser EX Updater (6.3.1) Those are all XP links Try here if you want something else. Poking around google, i'm not even convinced it's meant to come with drivers. Just plug it in and use it.
