Web of steel
While out for my evening stroll, I happened upon this creation. Someone obviously took a lot of time over this so I felt it should be recorded for posterity. I wasn't happy with the first batch of shots as there was too much sun on the grass so I waited until the sun had gone down and went back out to have another go. It was really quite a challenge for a noob like me as there was no way autofocus was going to work on this so I had to manually focus on quite thin wire in dimmish light. There was also quite a bit of PP work to bring the wire out.
It looks better at full size which can be seen by clicking on the image. Exif data: Aperture - f11 Shutter speed - 2s Focal length - 55mm ISO - 100 Taken at the lower end of my new lens wot I purchased yesterday - a Sigma 55-200mm f4-5.6. I wanted a longer lens to take to Egypt with me when I leave on Monday but, since I haven't worked for two months, funds were a bit tight so this was the best I could manage on a tight budget. I'm still trying to get used to it but I've already ascertained that the sweet spot seems to be from f8-f11. I'm looking forward to using it a lot more to get the hang of it. I'll be getting better quality glass as and when I can afford it but this'll do me in the meantime. Perhaps not the most interesting shot in the world but I was quite pleased with the results considering the conditions. I'm not happy I got it at the best angle so I might have a look tomorrow and if it's still there, have another go.
