Default Which new camera?

After my last purchase totally failed a kodak. Omg are hey bad worse than a rubbish camera phone. I'm still using my old Hitachi, which has problems focusing these days.

I need a new camera before the Bulldog bash.

Now most pics will be your usual festival type ones, as well as close up pics of bikes.

The other thing I want to do is take close up pics of food dishes at home.
It would also be nice if I could take half decent photos of the drag strip and maybe even film.

Was thinking of maybe the Fuji FinePix F100fd which can be had reconditioned of the fuji site for £124. So something around that price.
Probably wont be able to do all of those things well, so certainly the happy snaps and the close ups are the more important bits.

Fuji make a nice camera, good choice for a compact in my opinion

Fuji compacts are machined from solid ultimate WIN.

Fuji F40fd is your best choice.

You don't need 12MP out of a compact, the noise just gets unbearable at higher ISO's.
