Went & bought it at 10am as arranged, Started sweet & drives pretty damn good as well for a lowered old banger, Pulls Really well through the gears & feels quick & responsive (Derv Quick), I like it & the driving position & the way it drives.
Took it down to Jims for a quick Turd polish & here it is after 55 minutes of attention. Cheeky Wet shots of course. You'll have this in your rear view buzzing away like a rabid wasp. You ain't seen me, Right !!! Going Low. Passenger wing has seen some action. |

Looks pretty good for £300, probably not the most comfortable way to do long trips but must be better than the Land Rover.

You'd be surprised how comfortable it is mate, The suspensions not hard & it doesn't bottom out, Of course if you hit a hole you feel it more but it's not as bad as it looks.
She's Legal, Insured this morning for 250 quid & taxed for 6 months for 104 quid, I needed a Stereo so I went to Halfrauds & purchased a Sony 4x45w unit for 79.99, There was cheaper but I have a JVC 4x40w matched to some 140w Kenwoods in my Landy but I wanted a tad more in the Motorway muncher. Ended up getting the Sony & some 220W door speakers that kick ****, Sounds are sorted. Took her down my mates Tyre & Exhaust place earlier in the day to give her the once over, Jacked up the front & all was well except one of the rubber tops on the near side strutt, Nowt to worry about, Jacked up the back & Both rear wheels were about falling off. Both wheel bearings completely shot so my mates Dad got a pair sent over & they were fitted in less than an hour. Drives sweet now & I know I can give it death without any wheels falling off. I'm not used to the limited power band yet & keep hitting the limiter. When you get it right though it pulls well & is quite quick for a Derv up to 80mph. S'pose All in she owes me 500 quid but has nigh on 6 months tax is Legal & ready for some miles. Note. I don't include the stereo & speakers in the price as they Stay with me. |

Had to sling a bearing in the front off side as well yesterday, No play in it just a grumble that was coming up the chassis. Sorted now though & she drives & tracks Perfect.
I took it out for my Motorway test early this morning which involves a gentle cruise out some distance & then a Death thrash on the way back with an Immediate switch off, I stop at my mates cob wagon & have brekky whilst I watch & listen to the motor cool & wait for any liquids to dump out the bottom, It Passed & I must say Cruises Lovely on the motorway, I reckon it'll sit at 80 All day no probs with a little left for take overs when needed. All in all I am happy & I actually like the car. Edit. O Yer. Bets are being taken on when the front nearside bearing will need doing, With 3 New bearings on I reckon the nearside one will last about 2 weeks, Especially seeings it's the nearsider that takes all the load from roundabouts.
