Garden Party Nibbles - suggestions please
Hello all
Am going to a garden party/baby shower on sat and would like to make some cakes/nibbles. Need some ideas though. Made red onion and goats cheese tarts and scones last time. Sweet or savoury - doesn't matter! Am thinking millionaires shortbread. What do you think? BB x |

Jacket potatoes, hollowed out, shepards or cottage pie mix put in. Covered with mash potato and cheese then baked again. Can be served hot or cold. these are bloody brilliant and easy to make.
Home made sausage rolls. again so easy to make and a million times better than even expensive supermarket ones. yeah you can't go wrong with millionaire shortcake

So I made these: http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/516122
Where the recipe is rubbish so made up most of it myself... I used puff pastry and glazed the whole thing and actually put egg on the end of the pastry so it stuck together. Also it says to roll out to 4cm thick, which is obv a typo otherwise it would just be ludicrous :/ And millionaires shortbread... where the shortbread (probably because I used digestives and not shortbread biscuits ) didn't hold together - also thought 1oz of butter for mixing with the biscuits wouldn't be enough. Also, the chocolate went white, due to putting it in the fridge :/ The caramel was lush though! Lol... practice makes perfect huh? BB x |
