Today was the 20th anniversary of me starting work with my current employer.

TBH all I was expecting was a card and a slap on the back but instead I ended up being dragged upstairs where everyone was waiting, glasses of champers were passed around and I had to say a few words.

When that was done with, the bosses handed me a box and said "we got you a little something". Unwrapped it to find a Canon 7D !!

Been planning on upgrading to one of these for ages but been holding off for the best price. Was completely stunned but rather happy. Boss kept asking me "is it ok?, is it what you wanted" and all I could say was "f*** yeah!"

Assuming I make it (21 months to go), the best I can hope for is a bottle of bubbly (which I won't be able to drink on my own).

Better than a kick in the teeth, but no 7D (I had to buy mine).

Well done for making it to 20 years though - it's getting to be a rare feat in the modern economy.

Thanks guys. Yeah I consider myself lucky to enjoy my job and work with a great group of people but even I wasn't expecting this

How did they know what you wanted? Lucky guess or did they have their spies out?

It's common knowledge that I'm into camera gear, plus my friend & colleague who I often go out shooting with has had a 7D from launch and knew I was planning on getting one so the bosses knew who to ask
