Default Issues with Sky.

Mum's had problems with Sky for a few months, basically our multiroom box hasn't ever had a phone line (since their engineer fitted it 3 years ago). They recently wanted to start charging for this so we cancelled multiroom (effective April 19th).

Our last two bills have been £90 and £80 due to this charge despite being after the cancellation of the multiroom. Personally I don't understand how they can charge you the extra charge on top of a service we don't actually have anymore.

Who can we complain to? Mum can't get sense out of Sky and this surely can't be legal?

This is very similar to what started our year long battle with Sky, which resulted in us taking legal action & moving to Virgin. They were completely unable to communicate or comprehend what the problem was. Will post more later when not on phone.

Call up Sky. Log your complaint again. Get names and ID's. Write down times and dates. Demand a refund and exclaim you are cancelling your DD until they respond.

Write to them as well after phone call, reconfirming the above conversation.

Call up bank.

Cancel DD.

Trust me, it's the only way you can get Sky to respond. Don't give them the opportunity to withdraw another months pay until they sort out this issue.

Sky = Morons. Many MANY hours wasted on phone to them. Over 18hours last year. Was not happy and would move to virgin... if they actually were in Weston!! (I even wrote to Mr Branson begging him to connect Weston up!)

Pretty much. When you get the letters saying they are taking you to court take them to the CAB & they'll get involved on your behalf. Unfortunately, it is the only way in my experience.

Sounds like you're well out of contract. If so, call as if you're cancelling, get through to retentions, state dissatisfaction with service as your reason, and take it from there.

At least you'll get a UK (Scotland) call centre that way, so there's some hope of comprehension. It's in their interests to sort you out, but stick to your guns and be prepared to go through with cancelling as they're more likely to respond if you're genuine. If no joy, cancel, and then stop the DD.

Probably a better start than a court case.

Only answer with sky is to go elsewhere.

After lots of messing around and around and around we ended up with half price tv for a year, half price internet for 6 months, free anytime+ (not worth it!), £45 back for wasted time on the phone.

Idiots.

anytime+ is free anyway. Hope they didn't sell the deal to you on that.

Thanks a lot guys. As I say my mum doesn't like talking to them any more so I think my dad will be phoning with a complaint so I'll pass all this on to him.
