Default Elfen Lied

WOW

I've 'obtained' all for volumes of this and watched the first, this is very good anime.

Very violent but with an interesting back story, something a little different from giant robots and highly recomended. Also HMV are selling most of the ghlibli collection for £10 a disc Vs the usual price of £20, I've almost got them all

A mate of mine keeps trying to get me into anime, perhaps I should give in to his whining and watch some next time I go visit him.

Right,

I enjoyed that a very good series, slightly hanging ending but well done and some great animation and a good back story.

What shall I watch next? Currently on the pile are movies and no series

Graveyard of the Fireflies
Tokyo Godfathers
Only Yesterday
My Neighbours the Yamadas
Steamboy
Ninja Scroll

I'm on the look out for a new series at the moment

I've seen

Wolfs Rain
GIT SAC 1st GIG
Lain
Elfin Lied
Habine Renmei
and probably a few others

Grave of the Fireflies is good, but really sad. i don't really like Studio Ghibli, they all seem the same to me. get chobits...it's brilliant! Gunslinger Girls is also really good. i'm not actually helping...just recommending stuff now...sorry

Watched all of Elfen Lied this weekend (well I think it was all of it... I WANT MORE DAMNIT!!) and thought it was superb Thanks for bringing it to my attention Matt, I need to get back into anime...

As for suggestions. Many years ago I watched The Guyver (not McGuyver) and thought it was an awesome piece of anime. What I saw was pretty much 2 series over 12 episodes, the first 6 were awesome but the artwork on the second 6 got a bit sketchy at times, still cool though. I have since found out that there are a LOT more episodes and also two different versions, the one I saw being the version made for the west and the other one I've found snippets of probably being the original Japanese version. Whilst I loved the western version the Japanese version blew me away. Well worth a watch if you like men turning into monsters and people in Bio-Boosted Armour

p.s. There were also two films made by Americans of this. The first was called Mutronics and had Mark Hamill in it (*sniggers*). It was a bit dire but good fun. The second was called Guyver : Dark hero and starred a guy that looked a bit like Michael Keaton, slightly more serious than the first and obviously had more money behind it.
