Default Favourite Christmas Tunes

So it's getting towards that time of year, what are you favourite Christmas tunes that get you in the mood? (The Christmas mood that is!)

Carol of the Bells

Now I killed the BD musical advent thread with this one back in 2009.... it's awful and cheesy but I can't help it................

Even though it's barely a Christmas song Fairytale of New York is probably the one that makes me feel the most Christmassy. Weird really when you consider the slightly depressing content.

In Dulci Jubilo is the main one that makes me go 'ah, Christmas is here!' though (and even that is only an instrumental of an old carol rather than a 'Christmas song').

Another fairytale of new york fan here - def my number 1. Also loved cory Taylor's x-m@$ last year so much I bought it again this year (it's for charity).

Both songs are on my phone all year round

Pretty much all of them!

Though I don't really "like" Fairytale of NY that much

Two of my utmost favourites. One seems to be played to death, the other I rarely hear.

First, it's a song I can remember from my childhood. I'd have been around 7 or so when this was released and it still brings back memories of the Christmasses of my youth. Secondly, now I'm older and I can understand the lyrics, it's a relief to hear a song that decries the commercialisation of Christmas, rather than embracing the cash culture that, I think, has eroded the magic.

Written in the 15c. Sung in latin, performed acapela. Wonderful.
