And it's a good thing too given that continually charging a full battery is a sure way to kill it.
My iPad battery still amazes me. Put the thing away (on standby with wi-fi on) for about a week and it comes out still with plenty of charge. |

Have to say since the update (the 5.0.1 one) its definitely increased the battery life quite a bit.
(stuff like that hurts my brain, how does a software update make a physical thing such as a battery better ) |

software can change the configuration of hardware, it doesn't need to change the actual device, just update it

Software by it's very nature can be notoriously inefficient. You're not making the battery last any longer it would still power a fixed object, ie lamp for exactly the same amount of time. What the update is doing is using the battery more intelligently. In the same vein that petrol pretty much has the same power output as it always has in the last half decade anyway. Yet a lot of cars will quite happily see 50mpg now days, imagine explaining that to someone in the 60's 70's, not that they'd probably particularly care i guess! It's just down to pure efficiency.

Haha, that samsung nexus is basically the samsung galaxy SII, and it's been out FOREVER. People just ignore it because it's android and not iPhone .
Personally, i was a little disappointed with it! It's good, but not worth its money, you're paying or open source ICS. I'm waiting now until a galaxy S3 announcement, probably released feburary/march next year. The Galaxy S3 will be a real improvement. My galaxy S is STILL coping remarkably well after 18 months out of sale, its the first phone i've ever managed to do this with and still feel happy! Ironically i could have got it on a long contract, but didn't want to risk it at the time! |

Still happy with the iPhone. But I guess something new always appeals.

I'm still happy with the iPhone and iOS. I've just signed up to iTunes match as well which is pretty bloody neat. Thought I'd give it a whirl for a year but I can see me keeping it as long as they don't ramp the price up too much.
