Been on an oil rig in the Med since the first week in January. Could have been better but could have been a lot worse (could have been in the north sea). Had a big feed on Christmas day - lobster at lunchtime and a huge buffet after I knocked off at the end of my shift (I stuffed my fat face until I could barely move ). Will be here for new year as well but we'll get another big feed on ne'erday.

I'm due home on the 5th so I'll be celebrating 'Auld Christmas' on the 6th (that's where Christmas used to fall when we still used the Julian calendar).

Mine has been as quiet as it normally is. Went round my Sisters Xmas day for the usual family xmas meal then came back & chilled with Frank.
I've had everything I've needed I s'pose so I'm not complaining although I was sick as a dog today between 3am & 2pm, Ok now though.
Has to be said that 2011 has been a Fantastic year for me & I just don't want it to end.

On a side note I feel for you guys that have had to work, Especially when you have young kids at home.

Think a Group Hug is in order.

In other news, Christmas was awesome, ate too much, drank too much and spent most of the day playing with new toys. Oh and we all stayed up too late.

Had a wonderful week off with my beautiful wife. Lots of lovely pressies and was re-united with my Aunts and Uncle from my fathers side of the family, who I hadn't seen for over 25 years. It was rather emotional.

Back to work now, but we've got a week off at the end of the month, so it's not so bad...

Wowsers, I didn't realise you actually spent that long on rigs in one stretch.

Ours was mental, 4 day old baby and a house full of people. Lovely though, Evan was totally spoilt by everyone.
