Default Lee Jeffries photography

Thought I'd share this guy's portfolio, his portraiture is amazing.

He's a local too. Been following him for ages on Flickr. Good to see he's got some recognition.

However, someone I follow on twitter made a valid point. Who are they? What's their story?

I don't really understand the question? Assume the 'they' is his portrait subjects?

Yeah. They're homeless people as far as I know. Other than that I don't know who these people are. Imagine how much more powerful they would be if we knew the story of the little girl.

Oh I see, ok. Yeah, I see that, but I like the power of imagination I guess it would be cool though to see him do profiles like you did with your lifeboat chaps.

I like the power of photography His photos have had a lot of exposure and now are in the national press. The story is of his processing more than his subjects. His photography is getting the press but not people. There's room in the press for both sides.

These people are homeless. What do they have to endure? Why are they homeless? Can we help? Should something be done?

James Nachtwey's photos are wonderfully processed and deeply harrowing. He's a war photographer who documents the worst atrocities mankind creates. He does so in the hope that by showing us normal folk what goes on something can be done about it.

Photography has the power to change the world but the story is lost here. That's a damn shame.
