Best brand for a 2 or 3tb drive?
Its been years since I bought a HDD (last was a samsung 1tb F1 I think) but this morning I've picked up a pretty sweet deal on www.ibood.com/uk/en/
So, for that nice little media box I need a beast of a (reliable) drive but no idea what to look at. Looks like its between WD & Seagate though; http://www.zyxel.com/products_services/nsa310.shtml?t=p |

If your not desperate, wait. Flooding in Thailand or Vietnam knocked out 2 or 3 HDD factories so prices are hugely inflated. Should return to 'normal' in the next month or so.

Yeah no rush, but I did read the other day that problem wasn't due to subside any time soon so *fingers crossed*!

Last I read, the supply problems were unlikely to be resolved this year.

I blame Apple. They're probably buying everything that gets produced!
I can get a 2Tb disk for £95 though which doesn't seem too bad. When I bought my 1Tb years ago it was certainly well over £100. http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=45894 |

Desperately need to expand again, but HDD prices are still too high. Although, I suspect they manufacturers are enjoying the high prices a little too much.
