The best frontman I've witnessed is Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips, whose mere presence on the stage before the support band even began to play was enough to bring huge cheers from a large crowd. Similarly he interacts and communicates with the crowd far better than I have seen any other frontman.
I've seen both Oasis and the Foo Fighters in the past and I won't dispute that Grohl is a fantastic frontman. Much like Wayne he has a real legendary status among the fans and can affect everyone in a crowd. Oasis on the whole put on a fantastic show but I think this is far more to do with the popularity of the songs than Liam Gallagher's talents as a frontman. |
