Default Glaswegian Bands and Solo Singers

Sound amazing when singing, often attractive, very talented. So why when they open their months do they have to sound like total gadgies?

Rikki (aka Karbon) had a nice accent, guess it depends on the area.
Take Paulo Nutini, fantasic singer. Heard him taking at the Brits and he sounds nasal and wino like

What about Fran from Travis? I don't know if he's actually Glaswegian but he joined the band at the Glasgow School of Art. Always thought he was quite softly spoken.
